Kumar's horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla emerged as a box office success. The film has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing Hindi film of 2026 after Dhurandhar The Revenge and Border 2. Amid the success, multiple vendors who worked on the film have alleged that they have not been paid for their work. One vendor reportedly claimed dues worth Rs 30 lakh remain unpaid, while another alleged pending payments of Rs 18 lakh. The total unpaid amount reportedly adds up to Rs 48 lakh.
Vendors Claim Non-Payment Of Dues
The vendor payment row has come at an awkward time for the makers of Bhooth Bangla. Backed by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures, the film is being celebrated as a big commercial success. As per a report in Mid-Day, two crew members have alleged non-payment of dues of Rs 48 lakh and have also said that top vendors are being prioritised over smaller ones. Both vendors are said to have worked on the film's production but are yet to receive their money even after the film has done well at the box office.The film is jointly produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, headed by Ekta Kapoor and her mother Shobha Kapoor, along with Akshay Kumar's production house, Cape of Good Films. Balaji Motion Pictures has reportedly reacted to the allegations.

Bhooth Bangla has had a strong run at the box office. The film has reached a worldwide gross of Rs 232.78 crore by the end of Day 20. In India, the total stands at Rs 148.25 crore net and Rs 175.93 crore gross.By the end of the third weekend, the worldwide gross collection officially pushed past the Rs 225 crore mark. The Priyadarshan directorial has maintained a steady pace in its third week, which is a good sign for any Bollywood release.Bhooth Bangla stars Akshay Kumar, Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Rajpal Yadav, and Mithila Palkar in key roles. It marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years and there was immense excitement among fans to find out what the actor-director had in the store for them.The horror-comedy is made on a budget of Rs 120 crore. This means the film has more than recovered its costs and is firmly in profit territory.
