No Other Choice has found a place in the Golden Globes 2026 nominations. The Korean hit starring Lee Gyung-Hun and Son Yeh-Jin has received a nod for best motion picture musical or comedy and best motion picture in a non-English
language. Infact, when its director Park Chan-Wook was asked about his reaction to the big nominations, he brought another Globes nominee and smash hit this year, KPop Demon Hunters in reference.
No Other Choice makes its way into Golden Globes
No Other Choice has now become the first Korean film to be nominated in the main best picture category at the Golden Globes. Park's previous work Minari, and the Academy Award-winning Parasite could not get through as they weren't in the English language. But since Golden Globes changed its qualifying rules, No Other Choice had a chance.
Park Chan-Wook lauds KPop Demon Hunters
Lauding how
KPop Demon Hunters has broken the clutter, by projecting audience changing preferences and appreciation, Park told Variety, "One of the great joys of this awards campaign has been [running] into [KPop Demon Hunters director] Maggie Kang. I didn’t know her in the past, but having run into her so many times, we’ve become best friends at this point, so I want to congratulate her and her team on the nominations.""KPop Demon Hunters was actually the first movie that I watched in my redesigned screening room at my house, with an improved sound system and the image system. And it was definitely worth it, because during the climax of the film, where the three members come together on stage, I cried so much. Such emotion is a very much a universal thing for anyone to be able to empathize with. I think this is a film that really, truly utilized the power and the potential that animation as a medium has."
