Raju Weds Rambai Plot
Raju Weds Rambai is inspired by a real life story that took place in 2010 in a village in Telangana. Raju (Akhil)is part of a band which performs at marriages in the village. He falls in love with Rambai (Tejaswini Rao). Rambai’s father Venkanna (Chaitu Jonnalagadda) is known to be an arrogant man who tries hard to hide his disability. He wishes that his son-in-law to be a government employee. When he does't approve of his daughter's love, Raju and Rambai decide to elope and the rest of the film talks about their struggles in life.

The film's director shared a statement about the reception which raised eyebrows among filmbuffs. The said he no issue if someone personally doesn’t like the film, but he urged people not to spread negativity. “If you don’t like the film, it’s okay. But please don’t spread negativity. If negative talk spreads after the release on the 21st, I will walk in just my underwear at Ameerpet Junction. That’s my challenge."
