The government has rolled out the full version of its revamped Aadhaar app and it brings some long-awaited relief for users who are tired of paperwork and centre visits. The updated app is designed to make common Aadhaar services simpler, quicker and more secure, allowing people to manage key details directly from their phones. From updating a mobile number or address to verifying Aadhaar instantly, the new app aims to put everyday Aadhaar tasks in one place, without the usual hassle.The app now supports instant verification tools, controlled data sharing and the ability to manage multiple profiles, making it especially useful for families.What’s New In The Aadhaar AppThe updated Aadhaar app allows users to selectively share identity details instead
of revealing the full Aadhaar number. It also supports up to five member profiles under one login, making it easier to manage Aadhaar-related tasks for dependents. Instant Aadhaar verification is now built into the app, reducing the need for physical documents. Users can also update their mobile number and address directly, share contact details through an Aadhaar contact card, and navigate the app through a cleaner, more user-friendly interface.How To Update Mobile Number Using The Aadhaar AppUpdating your registered mobile number no longer requires visiting an enrolment centre. Inside the app, users can head to the Services section and choose the option to update their mobile number. The app shows the existing number and prompts users to enter a new one. An OTP is sent to the new number for verification, and once entered, the request is submitted. The update can take up to 30 days to process, and the app mentions a fee of Rs 75 for the service.How To Update Aadhaar Address On The AppThe address update process follows a similar flow. Users can select the address update option, choose a valid proof of address document, upload it, and review the requested changes. After confirming the details and making the payment, the request is marked complete. Like mobile number updates, address changes may take up to 30 days and also carry a fee of Rs 75.
