We already got to know in a few reports that the US Defense Department used Anthropic's AI model in the war against Iran, and that became a major reason behind the fallout. Now, the latest report could be dubbed a little more disturbing than that because Iran did no less. As per a report published by Financial Times, Iranian hackers are using tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and more to build malware, trigger phishing messages in Arabic and Hebrew. The hackers also used these models to create manipulative fake online personalities focused on trapping US and Israeli government officials. The report suggested that the Iranian operators are using AI-generated identities to gain trust with potential targets. They start conversations carrying fake personas
and then manipulate the victim in lowering their guard down. When that happens, the hackers send malicious links or requests to the users. Israel has reportedly been hit by a plethora of phishing attacks, including both text messages and emails. Some of the messages out of the lot directly included invitations for the victims to join the Iranian Intelligence.Microsoft Changes GitHub Copilot Pricing: Pay Only For What You Use
