Eye witnesses record statements
Earlier in January, Singapore cops told the Coroner's court that
Zubeen, on the day of his death, entered water twice. While he wore a life jacket for the first time, he refused to follow safety protocols the next time. Channel News Asia reported that the chief investigating officer informed the court that Zubeen was ‘severely intoxicated’ before going for a swim and several witnesses saw him trying to swim back to the yacht before floating with his face in the water. The captain of the yacht was among the witnesses who gave evidence before the court. He revealed that Zubeen had to be physically supported by two friends while boarding the vessel. Seeing him in an intoxicated state, the captain warned the singer’s friends that he should not enter the water without a life jacket. After noticing the Assamese singer floating face down, the captain jumped in to rescue him.
Zubeen Garg's medical history
Zubeen had a medical history of hypertension and
epilepsy. A forensic pathologist testified that there were no physical indicators that could establish whether Garg had suffered an epileptic seizure before entering the water.
