After a gap of almost 2 years, Prabhas has returned to the big screen with The Raja Saab. It is a multi-lingual film directed by Maruthi. Sanjay Dutt plays the antagonist in the horror-comedy co-starring
Zarina Wahab, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar. The makers confirmed its sequel, titled Rajasaab Circus 1935, before the end credits. Prior to its release, which hasn’t been announced yet, let’s decode the climax of The Raja Saab. While the film answers many questions, there’s a lot to be understood. The Raja Saab has released today (January 9) in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam.
The Raja Saab ending explained
The Raja Saab begins with an ambulance man who is asked to perform the last rites of an unidentified body. While driving through the Narsapur Forest, he stops at a tea stall. The man has stolen the dead person’s belongings, including money and jewellery. Mysteriously, a Rs 500 note takes him to a dilapidated bungalow, which was once owned by Kanakaraja (Sanjay Dutt). The spirit of the evil man tortures him. Cut to the present time, Raja Saab (Prabhas) is introduced with a song. He lives with his old grandmother, Ganga Devi (Zarina Wahab). She is diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. Her wish is to reunite with her husband Kanakaraja.
Romantic track
Amid the constant search for Kanakaraja, Raja Saab’s friend gives him an important lead. He travels to Hyderabad to find his grandfather. However, he meets Bessy (Nidhhi Agerwal) at a church and instantly falls in love with her. By this time, he is also dating a woman (Riddhi Kumar) in his village. Raja Saab is asked to pay a hefty amount to the senior cop to fast-track the process of finding his grandfather. At the church, he learns about a young girl’s heart operation and volunteers to donate a large sum. This leaves him with little money to pay the cop. Bhairavi (Malavika Mohanan) lends him some money. While his relationship with Bessy, a to-be nun, is in the dark, he falls in love with Bhairavi. It is revealed that her maternal grandfather was falsely accused of stealing a kingdom’s wealth. The kingdom, Devnagar, was once prosperous. Ganga Devi was the queen. After being insulted publicly during an annual puja, Kanakaraja seeks revenge. He resorts to black magic to attain manipulation and mind-controlling powers. With this, he takes Ganga Devi’s mind in hostage and makes her believe that the loyal warrior of the kingdom is behind the theft of money and jewellery. Kanakaraja tells her that he will return home only after catching hold of the culprit.As she anticipates the return of her husband, Ganga Devi raises Raja Saab, who lost his parents at a young age. He decides to end Kanakaraja’s hypnotism. Raja Saab, along with Bhairavi and others enters the haunted mansion of illusion. When things get difficult, he seeks Dr Padmabhushan’s (Boman Irani) guidance. His understanding of the mind doesn’t work on the evil spirit. Kanakaraja eliminates Dr Padmabhushan from the story.
Final fight
Using his deception, Kanakaraja calls Ganga Devi, pretending to be Raja Saab. When she gets to know about her husband’s fake ill-health, the old lady suffers brain stroke. She is admitted to a nearby hospital. Raja Saab, now within Kanakaraja’s spell, can’t connect with his grandmother in the outer world. To break the spell, he has to think beyond the hypnotist’s mind. While he puts in his mind and strength to beat him, Ganga Devi is in a critical state. Her dead husband plays mind games to confuse the doting grandson. Remembering Dr Padmabhushan’s advice, he creates a different world in his mind where Ganga Devi is still the kingdom’s queen. This gives him motivation to beat his own grandfather. From fighting a crocodile to playing around with fire, Kanakaraja’s hypnosis continues to trick his mind. With divine intervention and his approach towards ending the spell, he rescues himself and Ganga Devi.
Climax
In the end, Ganga Devi no longer remembers her husband. The film wraps with Raja Saab performing prayers for Kanakaraja’s soul to attain salvation. It is revealed that a sequel titled Rajasaab Circus 1935. Prabhas is expected to be seen in dual roles, as per the first official glimpse of the film released by the makers.
