On Day 8, the film collected Rs 6.30 crore net in India, taking its domestic total to Rs 193.55 crore and pushing its worldwide gross beyond Rs 345 crore. While the film remains a major crowd-puller in Telugu-speaking regions, it has also got heavy criticism over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character. Ram Charan’s Peddi is holding steady at the box office as it enters its second week in theatres. Despite witnessing a gradual slowdown in daily earnings, the sports action drama has already crossed Rs 345 crore worldwide and is now closing in on the Rs 200 crore India net milestone. According to trade tracker Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 6.30 crore net on Day 8 while running across 7,412 shows. This marks a decline from the Rs 7.55 crore earned on Day 7, but the film continues to maintain a good run/

The film’s total India net collection now stands at Rs 193.55 crore, while its India gross has reached Rs 229.95 crore. The Telugu version continues to be the main source of the film’s success, recording stronger occupancy levels than other places. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana once again emerged as Peddi’s biggest markets, contributing to most of the film’s Day 8 collections. Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and other regions also added to the overall total, helping the film grow despite the expected weekday decline.

Backlash Over Janhvi Kapoor's Character

While Peddi continues to attract audiences, it has also faced criticism over the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor’s character. Several viewers accused the film of objectifying the female lead, while others described certain romantic sequences as examples of hypersexualisation.As criticism intensified online, director Buchi Babu Sana addressed the issue publicly. In a statement shared on X, he said cinema should entertain, inspire, and connect with audiences without making them feel uncomfortable or disrespected.

The filmmaker acknowledged receiving feedback regarding certain scenes and confirmed that changes had already been implemented. He also clarified that neither he nor the team intended to disrespect women and mentioned to audiences that their concerns had been taken seriously.
