After training Salman Khan for several years, Rakkesh R Uddiyar started working with Ram Charan. The celebrity fitness coach shuttles between Mumbai and Hyderabad for work. As Ram Charan begins the countdown to Peddi, Rakkesh spoke to Zoom exclusively about the Telugu superstar’s journey with fitness and how he prepared for the role of a wrestler in the Buchi Babu Sana directorial. Calling the 41-year-old a replica of Salman, he praised his mental strength and dedication towards fitness, irrespective of physical injuries and fatigue. Rakkesh feels Ram Charan gets power from spirituality. Talking to Zoom, Rakkesh said, “Like Salman Khan, Ram Charan is also very strong. He had an injury on Peddi’s set and despite that, he resumed work immediately.
You need to be stronger mentally than physically for this. I believe a lot of strength comes from his spirituality.”
What makes Ram Charan a replica of Salman Khan in fitness?
The celebrity fitness coach added, “Ram Charan has always been on the lean side. He is like the second
Salman Khan. Do abs upar rehte hai, chest in very good shape. Thoda out of shape chale jate hai toh cardio kar lete hai (When they go out of shape, they bounce back with cardio). Charan is as good as Salman bhai. He is a replica. Dono subah uthte hi cardio karte hai (Both do cardio after waking up in the morning).”
Ram Charan's Ayyappa Deeksha
Rakkesh, in awe of Ram Charan’s dedication and spirituality, further shared that during his annual Ayyappa Deeksha, which goes on for 41 days, the actor avoids footwear. Talking about his diet and shooting schedule in those days, the fitness coach said Peddi’s production team could give details of the shoot to prep better. Maintaining a strictly vegetarian diet, he shared that Ram Charan is normally given a meal plan with fewer meat and non-vegetarian days.
