Amarpal Jasjit Singh aka Garundi, the second season also stars Mona Singh in the role of a no-nonsense cop Dhanwant Kaur. The star cast and creators of Kohrra Season 2 recently engaged in an insightful chat with Zoom. During the chat, Mona opened up about her character in the Netflix series and the challenges of playing a no-nonsense cop in a world full of men. The actress also shared how she manifested her transition from TV to OTT.

When Mona Singh was asked about her first break away from TV to OTT, Mona revealed "Yeh Meri Family. That was the first show which I shot for. It's a lovely show." Next, the actress was asked if the show was U-turn from what she was portraying, Mona agreed and added,"I had done almost everything on television, so how do you grow or evolve more. It's by taking the next step, the leap of faith. But what happens for every actor is the wait and the wait is unpredictable. You are not working for six months or a year or two years, what do you do in that time, so I was waiting it out and I was watching all the shows produced by TVF. I was watching them in YouTube and U was like wow, this is a new thing. I loved Tripling, I loved Permanent Roommates - I love those shows and I was like why am I not doing this and how do I get to do these kind of shows because these are the shows I want to be a part of and then of course I got a call from TVF ki aa jao. Let's do a reading." When asked about the complexities of her character of a no nonsense cop and portraying them in Kohrra Season 2, Mona stressed the importance of strong writing. For her, the script, dialogues, and layered narrative provided everything an actor could ask for. She also spoke about the unique prep process, which included intensive workshops and one-on-one sessions with acting coaches, something she had never experienced before. Unlike the usual approach of table reads followed by individual preparation, this process involved deep collaboration, requiring both learning and unlearning.
