a slight delay, the trailer of Cocktail 2 is out! Directed by Homi Adajania, the film is a spiritual sequel to the director's own 2012 film. The previous film starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, while the new film features Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. While Shahid and Kriti are reuniting again after Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), they are working with Rashmika again for the first time. This is also Rashmika's first film after her wedding to Telugu star Vijay Deverakonda.

One netizen felt that Cocktail 2 perfectly captured modern romance with all its beautiful chaos. While another felt none of the characters were completely sure of what they wanted, the film was leaning into that uncertainty beautifully. Yet another fan felt this was how you play with nostalgia but still give a new experience. Several hailed the return of the OG charbuster by Pritam titled Tumhi Ho Bandhu. The Hindi film explores what happens when love turns into friendship and love enters friendship. Kriti's character cheekily asks during the trailer if it is "like a threesome."

Pritam once again returns as music composer for the sequel, while Amitabh Bhattacharya is the lyricist. Cocktail 2 is produced by Dinesh Vijan, Luv Ranjan, Pramita R Vijan, and Ankur Garg. It will be released in theatres on June 19.
