Karthi's Vaa Vaathiyaar To Release On...
The film Vaa Vaathiyaar will now release on December 12. The update was shared along with the poster for the film's third single, creating attention among fans who have been awaiting further details about the project.
The film marks Karthi's 27th outing. In an interview with Cinema Vikatan, the director revealed key details about the plot of the upcoming film. He said, "I wanted to make a proper action masala film, like the ones we used to get in the 80s and 90s. The story revolves around an MGR fan who believes his grandson shares a special connection with MGR. As time passes, the boy grows up to become Ramu (Karthi), a fun-loving, easygoing police officer. He forms a close friendship, but certain unexpected events put his grandfather’s life in danger. The film is about how Ramu transforms after that turning point.” The extended cast also features Anandaraj, Shilpa Manjunath, Karunakaran, GM Sundar, Vadivukarasi, and Madhur Mittal, among others. Vaa Vaathiyaar features music by Santhosh Narayanan in his third collaboration with Nalan Kumarasamy after Soodhu Kavvum (2013) and Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum (2016). The technical team includes cinematographer George C Williams and editor Vetre Krishnan. The film is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja under his banner, Studio Green Productions.
Karthi was last seen in the film Meiyazhagan, where he worked alongside Arvind Swamy and Sri Divya in a project directed by C Prem Kumar. Apart from Vaa Vaathiyaar, he also has PS Mithran's Sardar 2, and Marshal with Taanaakkaran-fame Tamizh in the kitty.
