120 Bahadur's Ankit Siwach REACTS To Objection Over Film's Title: Respect Concern Any Community Has Because... - EXCL
Times Now
A few months ago, Farhan Akhtar's 120 Bahadur ran into trouble. A news agency reported that the Yadav community staged a protest in Gurgaon, blocked roads and demanded a change in the film's title. They
insisted that the film's title be changed from 120 Bahadur to 120 Veer Ahir to highlight the contribution of the Yadav soldiers in the Battle of Rezang La. Now, in an exclusive interview with Zoom, Ankit Siwach reacted to their objection over his film's title.
Ankit Siwach on 120 Bahadur title controversy
In conversation with us, Ankit said, "See, number one, I respect the concern any community has because when it's a story that involves a community or a particular sector of people, it is natural that they would want to feel respected and be heard." That said, the 120 Bahadur star believes that one must be patient until they see the entire film after its release."But I also believe that until the whole story is out, until the film is out, one should be a little calm and patient, just to see the whole story. And then if it doesn't justify, one can say whatever they want to say. But right now, I feel that if the story wasn't about them, it would have been named something else. It would have been named maybe Major Shaitan Singh Bhati or whatever. Because it's about all of them involved in the battle. It's about those soldiers, so it's about the Charlie Company. It's about them.," added Ankit.ALSO READ - 120 Bahadur's Ankit Siwach REVEALS Farhan Akhtar Helped Co-Stars On His Day Off: We Were Shooting In - 5 Degree... - EXCLThe actor further highlighted that 120 Bahadur specifies who the film is all about. "We pretty much specify who this film is about and how much respect, love and admiration the film is trying to portray towards the community and towards the soldiers of our country, and pretty much the Battle of Rezang La and everybody involved in that battle. So, the film is an ode to all of them."
