Suriya’s Karuppu continues its strong box office run, nearing the Rs 300 crore mark worldwide, Arjun Sarja’s latest action film Blast is quietly carving out its space in theatres. Released on May 28 and directed by debutant Subash K Raj, the film has shown steady growth through its opening weekend. The action drama revolves around a middle-class martial arts family forced into a life-threatening situation that tests their resilience. Despite competition from big releases, Blast has managed to attract audiences, with Day 3 collections showing impressive figures for the action drama.
Blast Box Office Collection Day 3: Arjun Sarja’s Action Film Sees a Jump Despite Karuppu Dominance
Produced by AGS Entertainment, Blast registered a significant jump in collections on its third day. Despite facing stiff competition from Suriya’s fantasy drama Karuppu, which continues to pull audiences, Blast is also performing steadily at the box office, driven by positive word of mouth. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 3.90 crore on Day 3, marking an 81.4 percent increase compared to its Day 2 collection of Rs 2.15 crore.
With this surge, Blast has now accumulated a total India net collection of Rs 7.30 crore, while the domestic gross stands at Rs 8.42 crore. The Tamil version continues to lead the film’s earnings, contributing Rs 3.25 crore on Day 3 with an occupancy rate of 49 percent across 1,523 shows. The Telugu version added Rs 65 lakh from 771 shows, registering an occupancy of 21 percent. Overall, the film has shown stronger traction in Tamil markets, particularly during evening and night shows, where occupancy peaked at 68.23 percent, indicating improved turnout later in the day.
On the international front, Blast collected Rs 2 crore from overseas markets on Day 3, pushing its overseas total to Rs 4.05 crore. The worldwide gross now stands at Rs 12.47 crore. Region-wise, Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 2.50 crore in gross collections on Day 3. Kerala followed with Rs 72 lakh, while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 67 lakh. Karnataka contributed Rs 60 lakh, and the rest of India accounted for Rs 3 lakh.
