Bhabi in Sooraj Barjatya's Hum Aapke Hain Koun. Recently, Renuka Shahane engaged in an insightful chat on Zoom, and she recalled fond memories from the sets of the Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit film. She also revealed that Salman was very mischievous off screen, but luckily, he didn't pull a prank on her.
Renuka Shahane on shooting for Hum Aapke Hain Koun with Salman Khan
While recalling memories from the sets, Renuka Shahane shared about fun memories off-screen while shooting for Hum Aapke Hain Koun. She shared, "We had a lot of fun off camera, too. The sequence where Anupam Kher ji eats laddus from Wah Wah Ramji, he has many interesting things in it because he is such a fine actor and his sense of humour is so amazing. Lakshya was there. Lakshya's sense of humour is so good, no one could hold his hand in that.She added,"And Salman was very mischievous. But he didn't play pranks, luckily. He used to do a lot of leg pulling. He was mischievous. And he was comfortable with Suraj Ji because the Maine Pyaar Kiya connection is going on to date."When asked if the off-screen bond also helped in playing the devar-bhabhi relation on screen, Renuka agreed, "Oh yes, absolutely it helps a lot. Actually, we are not so switch-on, switch off actors."
On shooting Dhik Tana with Anupam Kher, Satish Shah, Madhuri in Ooty
During the chat, she explained about the environment on set and shared an anecdote from Dhik Tana shoot in Ooty. She shared, "We went to Ooty for Diktana Diktana and we had cricket sequence, etc. Then Reema (Lagoo) ji and Anupam (Kher) ji, everybody, the entire family comes together. So, at that time, there were no makeup vans. Before the shot used to change, we all used to sit in one place and play dumb charades. Satish Shah Ji was also there, and we used to tell stories and fables. It was such enjoyable, and Suraj Ji used to always say that we could also shoot for a Marathi film on the side, because we had so many Marathi characters. Salman is half Marathi. Madhuri is full Marathi."
