Rakesh reveals Sanjay Dutt calls him brother
The two spent time reminiscing about old memories. Rakesh recounted, “He calls me brother because he knows I’m senior to him and he shows me immense respect. Once I casually asked him, ‘How is Madam?’ and he got upset. I wondered why, and he said, ‘Brother, why would you say Madam? She is your younger sister, your daughter-in-law. Don’t call her that.’ That’s the kind of bond and respect we share.”
Rakesh Bedi on working in Dhurandhar
Talking about his experience on set, Bedi revealed that he felt the intense script needed lighter moments. “When I first read the script, I found it extremely intense, not grim, but consistently gripping. What I felt missing was humour,” he said.He discussed this with director Aditya Dhar. “I told Aditya that I could sense places where I could add some wit or a touch of humour, and that there was room for laughter,” he explained. Over time, they developed a strong creative understanding.“There was a wonderful rapport between Aditya and me, and it shows in the film,” Bedi shared. “You’ll notice several moments where I’ve tried to draw humour out of almost nothing, not through dialogue necessarily, but through a look, a smile, or a small gesture.”
