around a possible sequel to Fighter was everywhere recently. The speculation reached its absolute peak after a viral Instagram post claimed that Fighter 2 was set to go on floors this year. Adding fuel to the fire, director of the Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone starrer - Siddharth Anand - reacted to the post with an evil eye emoji, which many interpreted as a subtle hint or confirmation. No Fighter 2!
According to
Bollywood Hungama, there is absolutely no truth to the ongoing rumours about
Fighter 2. A source close to Hrithik Roshan has clarified that no discussions have taken place between the actor and Siddharth Anand regarding a sequel. The insider reportedly stated that the claims are “baseless,” putting an end to speculation that had been building over the past few days.

The film featured an ensemble cast led by Hrithik Roshan as Squadron Leader Shamsher Pathania, aka Patty, alongside Deepika Padukone as Squadron Leader Minal Rathore (Minni). Supporting roles were played by Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Akshay Oberoi. Set against the backdrop of the Pulwama attack and the Balakot airstrike, the story followed an elite Indian Air Force unit called the Air Dragons as they undertook a high-risk mission against terrorism.
Earlier this year, Siddharth Anand had also paid tribute to the film’s journey in a social media post on its second anniversary, calling it “two years of my best work.” He especially talked about a couple of emotional sequences - one between Patty and Saachi and another featuring Minni and her father - as some of the most meaningful scenes he has directed. However, looks like for now, despite the love for
Fighter on digital platforms and its strong recall among audiences, it appears that there are no immediate plans to expand the story into a sequel.
