De De Pyaar De 2 promises to be a full-on family entertainer, a perfect mix of laughter, romance, and drama. From Ajay Devgn and R. Madhavan’s father-son-in-law face-off to Meezaan Jafri’s grand entry
and a meta nod to Ajay and Rakul Preet Singh’s age-gap romance, the film is creating positive reviews. Amid all the buzz, Meezaan opened up on the 'other side' of nepotism in Bollywood and it's not what you expect it to be.
Meezaan Jafri Opens Up On Nepotism
In a chat with India Today, Meezaan spoke about the assumption that star kids have it easy. He said, "One misconception is that we have it easy. Someone who says that is quite stupid. Yes, of course, we have it easy from a certain perspective, but we also have it difficult in another, because that baggage and burden is there on the star kid. It’s easier to come in with a clean slate than to come in with so much baggage."Further, he added, "Everyone has their pros and cons. Everyone has their own journey. And instead of pointing fingers, I think people should understand that it’s very difficult for everyone at every stage." "Groupism does exist in the industry; everyone has their own set of actors or people within their circle, or talent management agencies often align themselves with production houses," Jafri concluded.
Professional Front
Meezaan began his career in the industry as an assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali on
Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat. He later made his acting debut with Bhansali’s production Malaal, alongside Sharmin Sehgal. He was also seen in
Hungama 2, Yaariyan 2 and
The Miranda Brothers. Coming back to
De De Pyaar De 2, directed by Anshul Sharma and produced by T-Series’ Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, along with Luv Films’ Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg, the film released in theatres on November 14, 2025.
