Pati Patni Aur Woh Do, collected Rs 2.99 crore at the box office on its opening day across 6,554 shows. The film, considered a spiritual sequel to Kartik Aaryan’s 2019 hit, earned less than half of what the original
Pati Patni Aur Woh starring Kartik, Ananya Panday, and Bhumi Pednekar made on its first day (Rs 9.10 crore). Meanwhile, occupancy remained low throughout the day, with morning shows at 5.38%, afternoon shows at 10.92%, and evening shows at 10.46%.

Mid Day, director Mudassar Aziz revealed that
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do marks his seventh film. He emphasized that he has never created a movie that condones infidelity and expressed feeling misinterpreted when such criticism arises. Mudassar also highlighted his collaborative history with Ayushmann, noting that their past projects have consistently steered clear of presenting gender issues in a biased or one-sided manner.
"In
Pati Patni Aur Woh [2019], the husband is faced with the consequences of his actions when his wife and girlfriend join forces," he said. He also mentioned to the tabloid that in
Happy Bhag Jayegi, he created a protagonist who makes her own choice in selecting a partner. Mudassar added that women in his films have always been portrayed with agency.
