Legendary
singer Asha Bhosle breathed her last on April 12. She passed away at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. The veteran singer died due to multiple organ failure, as confirmed by Dr Pratit Samdani. Ever since the news of her demise broke, many Indian celebrities have mourned her loss and paid tribute to Asha ji. In an exclusive interview with Zoom, veteran actress Sharmila Tagore reminisced about collaborating with the late singer on her first film, Kashmir Ki Kali, which was released in 1964. She revealed that Asha ji sang her first song, Deewana Hua Badal, and shared a story from set.

Speaking exclusively to us, Sharmila Tagore shared that
Asha Bhosle had a wonderful life. Recalling the time they worked on her first movie Kashmir Ki Kali, the veteran actress said, "She sang my very first song in
Kashmir Ki Kali, Deewana Hua Badal. I was giving my first shot in shikara, and I came up from the Dal Lake in Nehru Park. Asha ji was standing there, and she gave me a warm hug and said it was very nice. She complimented me. Coming from Asha ji, it was so heartening and warm."
The senior actress admitted that Asha ji was always warm to her. Interestingly, they were also neighbours. "She was down the road. I lived in Rashmi, and she was in Prabhu Kunj with Lata ji. We were neighbours. She's been a very warm and lovely person," added Tagore.
Sharmila Tagore says Asha Bhosle was 'versatile' artist
In the same conversation, the actress called Asha ji 'versatile' artist, who could sing all kinds of songs including peppy and modern. "Because she was a jolly person, her personality came through her songs," she added. Before ending the conversation, the senior actress was asked to pick her favourite Asha Bhosle song. Kashmir Ki Kali,
Isharon Isharon Mein, although it was a duet, that was a lovely song. So
Kashmir Ki Kali songs resonate because that was my first film."
Asha Bhosle's last rites
Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle's mortal remains have reached her residence, Casa Grande, Lower Parel, Mumbai. Her last rites will be performed tomorrow at the Shivaji Park crematorium at 4 pm. She will be cremated with full state honours. May the legendary singer's soul rest in peace!
