actor Satish Shah has passed away at the age of 74 due to kidney failure. He was best known for popular TV shows such as Sarabhai vs Sarabhai and Biwi Toh Biwi Salla Re Salla.

One of the prominent members in the Indian entertainment industry, Satish Shah passed away today, October 25, at the age of 74. The actor was best known for his comic roles in films including Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi (1984), Sarabhai vs Sarabhai (2004), Main Hoon Na (2004), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Fanaa (2006) and Om Shanti Om (2007). In 2015, he was also appointed as a member of the Film and Television Institute of India society. Ramesh Kadatala, who has been Shah's personal assistant for over 30 years, said the actor passed away at his residence in Bandra east in the afternoon. PTI quoted his manager as saying, "Actor Satish Shah, best known for 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro' and 'Sarabhai vs Sarabhai', has died." Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the director wrote, "Sad and shocked to inform you that well known actor & a great human being Satish Shah has expired an hour ago due to Kidney failure. A great loss to the industry. Om Shanti."
