LOVE – World AIDS Day fashion show, Ashley Rebello supported an important cause. Joining him in endorsing the cause were Malaika Arora and Sunny Leone, who walked the ramp. However, in an exclusive interview with Zoom, Ashley felt celebrities are image-conscious, and despite confirming their presence at the event, many did not turn up. The renowned fashion designer highlighted the problem within the industry as he made shocking revelations.
Ashley Rebello on concept-based shows
When asked if he would like to do more concept-based fashion shows that support a cause, Ashley told us, “If people give me the opportunity, then I would definitely love to do it. But they’re not willing to invest. Secondly, if I have called about 25 to 30 celebrities, some five or ten showed up. Imagine the other 20 did not come ahead to support.”

Ashley gets furious
A furious Ashley added, “You're ready to go and pose on the red carpet even when you’re not even getting award. But you wish to go there because it's so glamorous and don’t think it is necessary to attend our event even when it is for such a big cause. It is so heart-wrenching. I feel it's ridiculous how they behave sometimes. I wanted to go and shake them up and give them a piece of my mind, but who am I to moral police anybody?” He further lauded Seema Sajdeh, Amrita Arora, Iulia Vantur, Imran Khan and others for showing up and taking something back home from the show. “Whoever came, took back something which made a difference. I wish that more of them had come because they don't realise what a difference it makes. I can't go around telling people. It was disheartening because they all said they're coming and then they didn't come. That’s wrong. You can't do that to somebody. They're so worried about their image. Things like these will actually change your image from what you are, what people are perceiving you to be. Forget coming from me, come and support a cause,” he signed off.
