Due to undisclosed reasons, Anushka’s brother, Karnesh Sharma, and co-founder of Clean Slate Filmz, as well as Netflix, parted ways, leaving many films stranded.

As Anushka’s fans urge Clean Slate Filmz and Netflix to release Chakda Xpress, Jhulan, a former Indian cricketer, was asked about the ongoing chatter around the film. Talking to Hindustan Times, Goswami reacted to reports of the makers of Chakda Xpress reaching out to the top executives of the streaming platform. She said, “I am not aware of any such update. A Mid-Day report revealed that Chakda Xpress may finally see the light of day as the film’s team reportedly reached out to the top executives at Netflix India for a possible resolution. A source told, “We have personally written to top executives at Netflix India to see if they can rise above the conflict so that the film can see the light of day. A biopic on a legend like Jhulan di deserves to reach the audience.”Another insider told the portal that the decision came after India’s big win at the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. “The recent victory has put the attention back on the biopic. Internal discussions at the streamer have started, and the team is expected to take a final pass this month to determine if it can be released after additional work,” they said.“The production house went over-budget. What added to the woes was that the platform heads didn’t like the way the project was shaping up. But it’s still a solid film,” the source concluded.After wrapping Chakda Xpress, Anushka did not sign any new film. Her last big screen appearance was in Zero (2018) and a cameo in Qala (2022) on Netflix.
