The Dhurandhar box office monster managed to gobble up the business of quite a few films heading into 2026. Kapil Sharma's Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, Karti Aaryan, Ananya Panday's Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri as
well as James Cameron's much-awaited Avatar: Fire an Ash, all fell prey to the Aditya Dhar, Ranveer Singh movie spectacle. However, if reports are to be believed, the late Dharmendra's final film Ikkis, which also stars Agastya Nanda, could turn the tide at the box office. As per a report by Bollywood Hungama, an exhibitor has claimed that since Ikkis is being distributed by Jio Studios, which is also the distributor and producer of Dhurandhar, they don' have problems with a reduced show-time for the Ranveer Singh film, since it has already done massive business. With Dhurandhar entering its fifth week on Friday, January 2, they have asked for around 30 per cent to 40 per cent showcasing for Ikkis.
The source explained that in cinemas with 2 screens, makers have asked for 4 shows, while in three-screen cinemas, they have asked for 6 shows. Similarly, in 4-screen multiplexes, makers have asked for 8 shows. In cinemas with 5 and more screens, a request for over 10 shows have been made. " In single-screens and 2-screen and 3-screen cinemas, they have instructed exhibitors not to have shows very early in the morning, possibly because Ikkis is a film that will not attract the audience early morning and would grow gradually by word of mouth," the source was quoted as saying. The source also revealed that theatres have been asked to sell tickets at regular weekend rates and hence will be sold at reasonable prices.
Ikkis is an upcoming Hindi biographical war drama that chronicles the life of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal and his heroic role in the Battle of Basantar during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War. Titled after the age at which Khetarpal was martyred, the film is directed by Sriram Raghavan, produced by Dinesh Vijan and Binny Padda, and stars Agastya Nanda, Dharmendra in a posthumous screen appearance, and Jaideep Ahlawat.
