Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer 2017 film Kaabil is in the news for good reasons. Amid rising speculations about a sequel, director Sanjay Gupta has broken silence on Kaabil 2. It comes after the filmmaker's recent X post where he hinted at a second part went viral, before he deleted it. While it left fans excited and anticipating, Gupta has now reacted to the update, which he removed from his social media handle. Kaabil starred Hrithik in the role of a blind dubbing artist who avenges the injustice inflicted on his blind wife, after she takes her life following a crime, leaving him shattered.

Speculation started when, on January 14, Sanjay Gupta replied to a user on X (formerly Twitter). The fan praised
Kaabil, calling it one of the strongest revenge thrillers in recent Hindi cinema, and even asked whether the film would get a sequel. Responding to the fan, Gupta wrote, "IT’S R E A D Y!!! And this time far DEADELLIER!!!!" Though Gupta soon deleted his reply, it already grabbed the attention of netizens by then, who took screenshots of his post and started discussing Kaabil 2 across X.

Sanjay Gupta has now reacted to the entire conversation and fans' eagerness for
Kaabil 2. Gupta told Times of India, "My tweet was a reply in jest to a personal friend. The fact is that yes, Kaabil 2 has been written and this time it is indeed far more deadlier. But right now, the Roshan family’s complete focus is on Krrish 4, which I feel will be bigger than the first three put together. Anything on Kaabil 2, if and when, will only be announced by Rakeshji."

War 2 (2025) is gearing up to return to his superhero avatar in Krrish 4. Meanwhile,
