Park Eun-Bin looks back at Extraordinary Attorney Woo
On the sidelines of promoting The WONDERfools, Park looked back at Extraordinary Attorney Woo and opened up about the immense pressure she faced while filming the hit drama. Infact, she revealed that the huge volume of dialogues left her "mentally exhausted" and stretched her acting abilities to the limit. In a recent video released by Netflix Korea, the actress discussed the challenges of playing the character of Woo Young-Woo, the brilliant rookie lawyer on the autism spectrum who has become one of the most beloved K-drama characters globally.
Challenges due to little time to prepare
Park explained that the workload during production was overwhelming because many scenes had a huge amount of dialogue, especially courtroom sequences that required long legal explanations to be delivered without interruption. According to the 33-year-old, some scenes stretched across 15 to 20 pages of dialogue alone, leaving little room for rest or detailed rehearsal. "I think my brain got worse after memorising so many lines back then," she shared.Park explained that she had almost no time to prepare because filming for the drama began only two weeks after she wrapped another major project, The King's Affection (2021). This tight schedule left her approaching filming one day at a time rather than preparing far in advance.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo helped Park Eun-Bin grow
Park explained that, unlike her usual filming experiences, she often had to "lower her own expectations" while working on the series. "There was so much dialogue, you couldn't help but have the odd slip-up, and I’m known for being pretty good at not making mistakes on shoots." Since the show came with a certain responsibility, it added to the pressure for her. Extraordinary Attorney Woo largely depended on her performance. However, despite the exhaustion, Park said the experience boosted her confidence as an actress. The project was a kind of training ground that took her well beyond her previous limits.
Extraordinary Attorney Woo is reportedly gearing up to return with a new season. Though more details on the same are awaited.
