singer Asha Bhosle's death has left a void in everyone's hearts. A day after her hospitalisation, the legendary singer's son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed the news of her demise. She passed away at the age of 92 at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on April 12. Her last rites will be performed tomorrow at Shivaji Park crematorium at 4 pm. Before that, her loved ones will be able to pay their last respects to her between 11 am and 3 pm at Casa Grande in Lower Parel. Now, the cause of the veteran singer's death has been revealed.
Asha Bhosle's cause of death
Breach Candy Hospital's Dr Pratit Samdani told news agency ANI that Asha Bhosle passed away due to multiple organ failure. On April 11, media reports suggested that the singer had been hospitalised after she suffered a cardiac arrest. However, the 92-year-old's granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, clarified that she was admitted due to extreme exhaustion and chest infection.
In her tweet, Zanai requested privacy, and wrote, "Treatment is ongoing and hopefully everything will be well and we shall update you positively." For the unversed, Zanai is the daughter of Anand Bhosle and his wife Anuja Bhosle.
Maharashtra Culture Minister Ashish Shelar on Asha Bhosle's death
Meanwhile, during a media interaction, Maharashtra Culture Minister Ashish Shelar spoke about legendary singer Asha Bhosle's demise. He expressed that Maharashtra and the entire country is mourning the end of an era. "Her work and her music were a source of joy not only for India but for the entire world...Tomorrow, from 11 am to 3 pm, her loved ones will be able to pay their last respects at her home in Lower Parel. Her last rites will be performed at the Shivaji Park crematorium at 4 pm. She will be cremated with full state honours," he said.

Asha Bhosle was one of the most celebrated singers of Indian cinema. In her career spanning eight decades, the singer lent her magical voice for many chartbuster songs. She was even the first ever Indian singer to be nominated for The Grammy awards.
The legendary singer was first married to Ganpatrao Bhosle, with whom she had three children - Anand, Hemant and Varsha. Later, she got married to RD Burman in 1980.
