What is the story about?
Since
his debut in the Hindi film Parampara, directed by Yash Chopra, Saif Ali Khan has come a long way. Over three decades later, he's still going strong and has even picked up awards for his performances in Dil Chahta Hai and Omkara. In his next film, Kartavya, he plays the role of a police officer named Pawan Malik. Speaking with us, Saif shared that his father, the late cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, would be thrilled seeing him as an actor now, and his answer just might surprise you!

In an interview with Zoom, Saif looked back at how far he had come in the film industry and stated, "I'll be happy with what I've got. It's much more than I thought I'd get. My father would be so, so happy that I wasn't asking him for money. He'd be thrilled. It's every dad's dream."

"It's my dream," he added with a laugh. Saif's older children with his ex-wife, actress Amrita Singh, areSara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan. Both have followed their parents into the film industry. He is also father to sons Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan with his wife, Kareena Kapoor. Taimur is nine and Jeh is five. The Jewel Thief actor further elaborated by saying, "That's the dream that they're successful is what I mean. That they are standing on their own feet." Sara made her film debut in 2018 with the drama Kedarnath, co-starring Sushant Singh Rajput, while Ibrahim's first film was Nadaaniyan in 2025. He played the younger version of his father in Tashan (2008).
