About Awarapan 2
During an exclusive chat with
Zoom, Hashmi opened up about Awarapan 2. He said that the film has shot some really intense scenes and also got crazy music which is fantastic. He also shared, that Awarapan has been in discussion for almost six years. "There was a conversation earlier, pre-COVID, and I said, 'How can you bring back Shivam?' The finality of the film was where he apparently dies. So there have been ideas and I think we cracked something really good in 2022, when my friend Bilal came with the script, which fits it to the T and takes that brand ahead," Emran said.
Speaking more about Awarapan 2, Emraan continued that sequel doesn’t just do it to capitalise on Awarapan or its cult following, which it has, by the way. Emraan said that whenever he met fans, they told him they loved those films, but
Awarapan had received a visceral and profound reaction from the audience, with its fan following growing over the years for almost eight years. He also said that people even had
Awarapan tattoos and similar complimentary expressions on their arms.
Producer Vishesh Bhatt on Awarapan 2
Speaking about the sequel, producer Vishesh Bhatt shared that Awarapan is an emotion so large that it's meant for the big screen. It also has interesting settings and large-scale visuals, but fundamentally it is built on our core principles of layered storytelling combined with strong characters and rich music. "Emraan felt the angst of Shivam so deeply that he stepped into character in a heartbeat. And with Disha Patani joining us, the world of the film opened up to new possibilities," he said. Meanwhile, in Awarapan 2, Emraan Hashmi returns as Shivam Pandit, with Disha Patani joining as the female lead and Shabana Azmi in a pivotal role. The story follows Shivam's journey of redemption in the world of crime, in continuation of the main storyline.
