Sen Sharma and Pratibha Rannta are back on small screens for their brand new film Accused, directed by Anubhuti Kashyap under Dharma Productions. The film is set to explore and confront uncomfortable questions about belief, loyalty and the fragile line between truth and perception. A queer story about a doctor in London and the aftermath of being accused of sexual misconduct. The film is backed by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta and Soman Mishra with Parth Dholakia as the executive producer.
Konkana Sen Sharma teams up with Pratibha Rannta for queer psychological thriller
Accused, starring Konkana and Pratibha will be making its OTT debut on Netflix. Slated for a release date of February 27, the film follows Dr. Geetika (played by Konkana Sen Sharma), a reputed surgeon who unfortunately sees her reputation at stake, and Meera (played by Pratibha Rannta), Geetika's wife who is living her dream life. Will their secret be turned into a nightmare or will have to go through a life they were never prepared for?
Ruchikaa Kapoor Sheikh, who is the director of Original Films, Netflix India, spoke about the film calling it meaningful and emotional which will perfectly portray truth, belief, and the personal consequences of an accusation. She further mentioned director Anubhuti who added depth to a powerful subject. Ruchikaa called both the lead actresses standout who flawlessly put layers to the storytelling which Netflix stands behind.The nuanced storytelling is written by acclaimed writers Sima Agarwal and Yash Keswani.
