Lively and Justin Baldoni have finally settled their legal matter after almost two years. For the unversed, the actress had filed a sexual harassment case against the director-actor in December 2024. She claimed in her lawsuit that her co-star sexually harassed her on the sets of It Ends With Us. Now, they have settled the matter before the civil trial which is scheduled for May. They were expected to testify about Lively’s allegations of sexual misconduct by her co-star Baldoni. Now, both actors’ legal representatives have issued a statement on behalf of them and announced that the legal dispute is now over.

End Of Blake Lively And Justin Baldoni’s Legal Battl

In the statement shared by the lawyers, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni stated that the end product – It Ends With Us – is a source of pride for all of them who worked to bring it to life. The statement reads, “Raising awareness and making a meaningful impact in the lives of domestic violence survivors – and all survivors – is a goal that we stand behind.” Moreover, the joint statement by Bryan Freedman, Ellyn Garofalo, Michael Gottlieb and Ersa Hudson states that they acknowledge the process presented challenges and recognise concerns raised by Blake Lively which deserved to be heard. They will now remain firmly committed to workplaces free of improprieties and unproductive environments.

“It is our sincere hope that this brings closure and allows all involved to move forward constructively and in peace, including a respectful environment online,” the statement concluded. With this deal, Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have averted a trial in the case.

What Happened In The Past?

Back in December 2024, Blake Lively had initiated a legal battle against Justin Baldoni and his company Wayfarer for sexual harassment. She also accused him and his team of marshalling a plan to undermine her reputation in retaliation for speaking up about the misconduct that she faced on the sets of It Ends With Us. Justin Baldoni countered her claims by filing a USD 400 million countersuit, in which he claimed that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, organised a smear campaign against him. The case left the entire showbiz world in shock. After the lawsuit was filed, the jury selection was scheduled to start on May 18, 2026. However, before that, Lively and Baldoni settled the matter. Coming back to It Ends With Us, the film was released in August 2024 and turned out to be a massive hit at the box office.
