you've ever wanted to be alongside Ajith Kumar on the racetrack, a new documentary, Gladiators, has the inside track on the Tamil actor's motorsport journey. Gladiators is releasing soon in theatres. The feature-length documentary was going to premiere on the actor's birthday on May 1, 2026. However, it will be released soon in cinema halls. Directed by AL Vijay, it will depict how Ajith followed his own dreams to compete professionally in racing circuits in India and around the world. Gladiators - In Pursuit of Challenges has been presented by Ajith Kumar Sports Services LLC. The first glimpse and motion poster were unveiled a day earlier by National Film Award-winning composer GV Prakash on Ajith's 55th birthday. He was excited to announce that he had composed a special theme for the actor's film. In the motion poster, director Vijay is credited with witnessing and capturing the documentary.

Last year, the filmmaker had revealed that Gladiators would be 90 minutes long and was made to also inspire other young people to follow their dreams. Gladiators also hopes to popularize motorsports in India, as it would take fans behind the scenes with Ajith on his preparation as a race driver, including strategy meetings, discussions with teams, and practice sessions. Several portions of Gladiators have been shot in Malaysia, where the actor competed in a gripping race. A source had revealed that the film would release in two parts of 45 minutes each. It would later premiere on OTT in an extended version. Ajith Kumar's racing career The Tamil star has built up a professional career since 2002 and competed in races such as Formula BMW Asia, Formula 2 and the 24H Series. Since 2024, he has competed alongside his own team Ajith Kumar Racing and was awarded the Gentleman Driver of the Year 2025 award in Venice, Italy. Ajith has also gone for the Porsche 992 GT3 Cup and came in third at the 2025 Dubai 24H. This year, he plans to drive for the 2026 Le Mans Cup, which takes place at the Circuit Paul Ricard in France.
