In a candid conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia on his podcast, Sonakshi Sinha opened up about her love story with husband Zaheer Iqbal, revealing how their bond began and how love unexpectedly blossomed between them. When asked how the two managed to become such effortless “couple goals,” the Dabangg star laughed and said, “By not trying! We’re literally just two friends living life. Zaheer ne mujhe ‘Pyaar dosti hai’ jaisi cheesy lines se pataya tha. He used to say so many filmy dialogues, and I would think, ‘These are so cheesy, how am I even falling for this?’ (laughs)”

Recalling how they first met, Sonakshi shared that it all started at a party held at Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartments. At the time, Zaheer was being prepared for his debut film Notebook, while Sonakshi was already close to Salman and his family through her long-standing association with them. “For six or seven years, we kept crossing paths but never actually met or even saw each other properly. Then one day, we were finally introduced at a party. We started talking, just silly, random things, but I immediately noticed his confidence. Usually, people get intimidated by me for some reason, especially boys back then. But Zaheer wasn’t. We ended up dancing together and then sat in a corner just talking, for five straight hours! We spoke about everything under the sun. It felt like I’d known him forever. There were so many similarities between us, and it just felt...like home. We instantly clicked, and since that day, we’ve been together.”

Sonakshi also confessed that she fell in love almost instantly. “I think I fell in love during that first chat. Within a week of knowing him, I told him I love him! He thought I was crazy, he even called his best friend and said, ‘Yeh ladki pagal lagti hai. I don’t think she even knows what love is.’”
