Ok Taecyeon's foray into BL (boys love) genre. Netflix Japan on February 12 unveiled a first look teaser as part of its 2025 slate trailer, that gave a glimpse into its intense plot. On January 27, Netflix unveiled the 2026 content lineup for Netflix Japan including 2PM’s Taecyeon and Isomura Hayato’s drama Soul Mate.
Soul Mate To Release On THIS Date
On its X account, Netflix Philippines dropped a photo of the two stars, along with the revelation that the series is scheduled to drop on May 14.
Soul Mate follows a Korean boxer who saves the life of a troubled young man, forging a bond that helps them "heal each other's pain and loneliness." The series chronicles the pair's tender romance, which unfolds over the course of 10 years and takes them through Berlin, Seoul and Tokyo.
Taecyeon plays the character of a Korean boxer, Johan. Hayato Isomura plays a Japanese man, Ryun who has left behind his life in his country. A chance meeting when Johan saves Ryu in a foreign church changes their fates. As the two men discover the meaning of life and love, they eventually develop a close bond while healing each other's wounds.

Soul Mate came out in June 2024 leaving fans highly intrigued. Helmed by Japanese director Hashizume Shunki, the show is set in Seoul, Berlin, and Tokyo. As per reports, it revolves around two men falling in love over a span of 10 years.
Soul Mate is scheduled to be released on May 14, 2026.
