Suriya
highest-grossing film Karuppu is showing signs of slowing down at the box office nearly three weeks after its theatrical run. The fantasy entertainer, directed by RJ Balaji, recorded a decline in collections on its 20th day in cinemas. While the film continues to attract audiences, especially in Tamil Nadu, its daily earnings have dropped a bit compared to previous weeks. Despite the slowdown, Karuppu remains one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year and beat the collection of several films. Also starring Trisha Krishnan, the film is also RJ Balaji's biggest blockbuster.

RJ Balaji meets CM Vijay
Recently RJ Balaji shared pictures from his meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay. Writing about his interaction on his personal profile on X, he said it felt unreal to meet Vijay in his current role as Chief Minister and mentioned about that the warmth, kindness and calmness he had always known remained unchanged. RJ Balaji also thanked Vijay for his support and contribution to the journey of his latest film, Karuppu. The post comes just weeks after RJ Balaji revealed that Vijay was the original choice for the lead role in Karuppu. The filmmaker said that the project was initially conceived with Vijay in mind. The film centres on Vettai Karuppu, a revered guardian deity who assumes the identity of a lawyer to fight corruption and deliver justice. Alongside Suriya and Trisha Krishnan, the cast includes RJ Balaji, Indrans, Anagha Maya Ravi, and Natty Subramaniam in pivotal roles.
