Raj, judging from the first look shared by Deverakonda on Republic Day 2026. The title announcement video states that Ranabaali will depict a dark and hidden chapter of India's history. The fictional story borrows from history to narrate a story about a forgotten time in the country's past. Story and release date info for Ranabaali

On the occasion of Republic Day, Mythri Movie Makers revealed that Ranabaali will be released on September 11. Ranabaali will tell the story of the deadly famine in British-occupied India during which 100 million lives were lost in 40 years, and $45 trillion was reportedly stolen. An animated video teases the devastating storyline and reveals that the film is set between the years 1854 and 1878.

Cast of Ranabaali Vijay Deverakonda is RanabaaliThe Arjun Reddy star plays the title character Ranabaali, who fights against the British Raj. In his X post,Deverakonda shared that the British called Ranabaali a savage for standing up against the injustices. The actor also teased that the film will set the record straight on history, which they tried to bury.

Rashmika Mandanna is JayammaNot much is revealed about Mandanna’s character but her name has been shared. An illustration features the actress dressed in traditional clothes with fine jewellery. She and rumoured fiancé Deverakonda worked together on the films Geetha Govindam (2018) and Dear Comrade (2019). The couple is reportedly tying the knot in February 2026.

Arnold Vosloo is Sir Theodore HectorThe Mummy (1999) star and South African actor Arnold Vosloo enters Indian cinema with his key role as British Raj officer, Sir Theodore Hector. It seems likely that the decorated officer will clash with Deverakonda’s Ranabaali.

The screenplay of the period drama has been written by Pramod Tammineni. Marathi composers Ajay-Atul are composing the score. Other crew members include Nirav Shah as cinematographer, Karthika Srinivas R as editor, Shivam Rao Nagasani as production designer, Vithal Kosanam as art director, and Yannick Ben, Andy Long Nguyen, and Rabin Subbu as the film’s action choreographers.The Telugu film is produced by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar. Streaming platform Netflix has already acquired the digital rights for Ranabaali.
