Papri Ghosh Opens Up About Her ‘Dream’ Experience With Ajith Kumar, Praises Sivakarthikeyean’s Humble Nature
Despite appearing in around 13 films, Papri was widely noticed for her role in director Siva’s Viswasam, starring Ajith Kumar and Nayanthara. Speaking about her experience, she said, "What can I tell you... it was amazing. While working with Ajith sir and Nayanthara ma’am in Viswasam, I felt really good. But unfortunately, I had to shuttle between shooting for my serial and this film, so I could not work on other portions where I was expected to appear. But let me tell you that I am a 'Thala' fan. When he first spoke to me on the sets, I was elated. I can't describe that feeling. It was a dream come true moment for me. In fact, the entire cast and crew treated me like family." Prior to this, Papri also appeared in brief roles in Vijay’s Bairavaa and Sarkar.
Nearly seven years later, Papri landed a significant part in Sudha Kongara’s Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan. Recalling how she bagged the role, she said, "My casting manager introduced me to the key members of the crew. I sat on the sets the entire day, wondering if I would get a role, but nothing happened. At the end of the day, an assistant director asked the casting manager if there was an actor who could speak Bengali and Tamil, and that's when he suggested my name. After that, I went for the auditions, where they liked my performance and cast me." She also praised director Sudha Kongara and Sivakarthikeyan for their support on set.
"Meeting Sivakarthikeyan sir was a really good experience. It was special because director Sudha ma’am was guiding me. She quoted me as an example of a good performer to the rest of the team members, and I felt so special. Working with Sivakarthikeyan felt great because he treated me with so much warmth. He even recognised me from my TV shows and encouraged me to perform well in all the crucial scenes I worked on with him," she said.
