SS Rajamouli interacted with director James Cameron through a live video conference. During the conversation, James Cameron expressed his interest in shooting a few scenes for Rajamouli's upcoming film, Varanasi.

Rajamouli was speaking to James Cameron for the session titled 'Meeting of the Minds: James Cameron in conversation with SS Rajamouli | Avatar: Fire & Ash'. The video was released on the YouTube channel of 20th Century Studios India. In a video from the interaction that has surfaced online, the Avatar: Fire & Ash director said, "May I come to your sets and see you create your magic. I can't think of anything I would rather do. The Varanasi director, while responding to James Cameron replied, "Oh...that would be an absolute pleasure Sir. James Cameron then said, "I can't think of anything I would rather do. I think you have been shooting for a while for the new film, Varanasi, right?" Rajamouli responded and shared, "Yes sir. It is almost a year now and another seven-eight months to go. We are in the middle of the shoot."The video ended with James Cameron jokingly saying, "Tell me when you are doing something fun, anything with tigers." The two then broke into laughter. The tiger reference comes from SS Rajamouli's RRR (2022). The award-winning film had a few sequences of Jr NTR being chased by a tiger and then unleashing other wild animals while attacking the event at the British governor's house.Rajamouli's Varanasi featuresMahesh Babu,Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead characters. A month ago, the first teaser of the film was released from Ramoji Film City, Hyderabad. The film is set to blend aspects of modern-day science-fiction as well as mystical elements. There are references to the Treta Yug from the epic text Ramayan, Lord Hanuman, Lord Ram and symbolise of Lord Shiva connected to the ancient city of Kashi, also called Varanasi.
