That would be the reason why series like Panchayat, The Family Man, and more continue to have great interest with every new season that they release. This year, several series returned with new seasons, and in the cases of Paatal Lok and Delhi Crime, after a very long time indeed. Created and directed by Aryan Khan, the debut of Shah Rukh Khan's son caught the cultural zeitgeist in a big way, with characters and scenes from the Netflix series going viral from day one. Starring Bobby Deol, Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Sahher Bambba, Anya Singh, and Mona Singh, the insider's look at Bollywood had it all: comedy, drama, and several starry cameos, including King Khan.
Criminal Justice: A Family Matter (IMDb rating 7.7)

The Hunt: The Rajiv Gandhi Assassination Case (IMDb rating 7.9)
SonyLIV's period crime thriller The Hunt, starring Amit Sial, Sahil Vaid, Bagavathi Perumal, and Girish Sharma, looked at the events surrounding the assassination of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Central Bureau of Investigation's (CBI) hunt for the people behind it. Tautly told, the series directed by Nagesh Kukunoor stayed to the point and never strayed away for the focus of its narrative.
Black Warrant (IMDb rating 7.9)
Based on the real experiences of Tihar jailer Sunil Gupta, the Netflix series gave viewers the first OTT star of the year with Zahaan Kapoor. Co-created by Vikramaditya Motwane and Satyanshu Singh, the crime drama set in India’s most infamous prison was eye-opening. It also featured some powerful performances from Zahaan and his co-stars Rahul Bhat, Paramvir Singh Cheema, Sidhant Gupta, and Anurag Thakur.
Paatal Lok (IMDb rating 8.2)
Jaideep Ahlawat's Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary returned after five years with an explosive second season on Amazon Prime Video that easily surpassed audiences' expectations. He and Ishwak Singh's Imran Ansari are called into another high-profile case that takes them from Delhi to Nagaland. Once again, the dark crime thriller made everyone's must-watch lists of the year.
Special Ops (IMDb rating 8.6)
Created by Neeraj Pandey, the JioHotstar series first premiered in 2020, making Kay Kay Menon's Himmat Singh a beloved character. He returned for a four-part prequel origin series in 2021. But the second series returned this year to show the legendary RAW agent tackle another big threat to the nation and pull off a mission most would deem impossible. Prakash Raj, Tahir Raj Bhasin, and Arif Zakaria joined the new season.
Delhi Crime (IMDb rating 8.5)
In 2020, the first season of
Delhi Crime won the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, the first Indian show to receive the honour. Now, the Netflix show returns with a third season that pits Shefali Shah as Vartika Chaturvedi and Rasika Dugal as Neeti Singh in a race against time to find the leader of a human trafficking ring called Badi Didi, played by Huma Qureshi. As the ruthless villainess, Huma adds new blood into the series.
The Family Man (IMDb rating 8.7)
Like Himmat Singh, Manoj Bajpayee's Srikant Tiwari is a household name when it comes to famous fictional spies in OTT. As he returned for a gripping third season in the Amazon Prime Video series, Srikant had to take his best mate and partner, JK (Sharib Hashmi), and his entire family on the run. Introducing formidable opponents with Jaideep Ahlawat and Nimrat Kaur, the new season left fans asking Amazon Prime Video, where is the next instalment?

Once again, The Viral Fever comedy series
Panchayat ruled on OTT. The ensemble cast of Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav, Neena Gupta, Chandan Roy, Faisal Malik, and Sanvikaa faced a local election that upended the village of Phulera with the result. It's a good thing the Amazon Prime Video series is returning for Season 5 because we can't wait to see how the gang tackles this latest challenge.
