The
epic conclusion to Wicked, Wicked: For Good, released this November and has already taken over the box office collections. Directed, once again, by award-winning director Jon M. Chu and starring the spectacular returning cast, Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, the final chapter of the untold story of the witches is here to blow your minds. After the film has completely taken over the box office collections, composer Stephen Schwartz has revealed that he is open to doing a spinoff movie.
Wicked: For Good All Set For Spinoff?
In a conversation with Variety after the new film came out of the gate with a $147 million opening weekend at the domestic box office, Stephen said, "I think that there will… there is… I don’t know. I’m trying to think what I’m allowed to say. But let me just say, I think that a spinoff is not out of the question. Let me put it that way."Further, he added, "Oz is a very rich territory. There are a lot of stories there, and possible stories. L. Frank Baum wrote many other odd stories besides that first book. So I think there may be some other visits to Oz in the future, and I might even be participating in one of them."
More About Wicked: For Good
For the unversed,
Wicked: For Good revolves around Elphaba and Glinda, estranged and living with the consequences of their choices. Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo), now demonized as The Wicked Witch of the West, lives in exile, hidden within the Ozian forest while continuing her fight for the freedom of Oz's silenced Animals and desperately trying to expose the truth she knows about The Wizard (Jeff Goldblum). Glinda, meanwhile, has become the glamorous symbol of Goodness for all of Oz, living at the palace in Emerald City and reveling in the perks of fame and popularity.
