Joju
George, who was recently seen in Thug Life and Valathu Vashathe Kallan, has officially announced his second directorial venture, Paripadi. Produced by Venu Kunnappilly under Kavya Film Company, the film has been launched after the success of his debut directorial Pani. Joju returns not only as director but also as writer and lead actor. The project is backed by Kavya Film Company, led by producer Venu Kunnappilly, known for delivering successful films like 2018: Everyone Is A Hero, Rekhachithram, and Aadu 3.
What makes Paripadi special?
One of the most unique aspects of
Paripadi is its casting choice. The film will introduce over 100 newcomers, making it a rare and ambitious experiment in Malayalam cinema. These newcomers have reportedly undergone rigorous training for several months to prepare for their roles. Joju George’s much-anticipated second directorial venture
Paripadi was officially launched in Chalakudy with a traditional pooja ceremony. The film features a diverse ensemble cast, including Vineeth Thattil David, Saiju Kurup, Bitto Davis, Aiswaria Chandran, Dilshanaa, Rithu Manthra, Jaya Kurup, and Shibin S Raghav.
On the technical side,
Paripadi boasts a highly experienced crew. Notably, composer Yuvan Shankar Raja makes his Malayalam debut with the film’s music. Cinematography is handled by Rajeev Ravi, who has worked on Yash's
Toxic, directed by his wife Geetu Mohandas. While action sequences are choreographed by the renowned duo Anbariv. Editing is by Manu Antony, with Ajayan Adat as sound designer and Sabu Mohan as production designer.
Is Paripadi connected to Pani?
Following the announcement, there was speculation on social media that
Paripadi might be a sequel or continuation of Joju George’s earlier film
Pani. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding any connection between the two projects. For now,
Paripadi appears to be a standalone film with its own story and creative direction, separate from his previous work.
Paripadi is being mounted on a large scale, with plans to shoot across multiple locations in Kerala, Europe, and other international destinations. Joju George was last seen in
Valathu Vashathe Kallan, a crime thriller directed by Jeethu Joseph, written by Dinu Thomas Eelan, and produced by Shaji Nadesan. The film featuring Biju Menon was released on January 30, 2026, and received mixed reviews from critics. He was also seen in
Narayaneente Moonnaanmakkal, a family drama written and directed by Sharan Venugopal, featuring Joju George, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Alencier Ley Lopez in key roles.
