Delhi Crime Season 3 just around the corner and a few new faces joining the cast, lead actresses Sayani Gupta, Shefali Shah, Huma Qureshi, and Rasika Dugal opened up in a recent interview about women and children's safety in India. They also reflected on how they separate their real emotions from the harsh realities their roles depict.
Shefali Shah speaks on women safety
While talking to Bollywood Hungama, Shefali Shah expressed, "It doesn't matter whether I do the show or not, the anger is still persistent. Every time you read a case, you are like 'when is it going to stop?' So I genuinely don't think its about the show. I believe that there is a silent sisterhood, no matter where you go and that's why we feel the compassion. It has to be the person being sensitive enough to understand what is going on, what is right, what is wrong, and what is unfair."Huma Qureshi adds up...
Continuing to what Shefali Shah explained, Huma Qureshi, who is set to play the role of 'Badi Didi' in the brand new season, wrote, "I know we are privileged, but there is a massive divide. We have massive population and that is where the problem starts. They have access to very limited resources and what that creates is exploiters use that against a lot of people. You see the inequality and unfairness of the system where the dream the dream is sold only to a bunch of people."Rasika Dugal slams the system for not showing much progress
Rasika Dugal, on this note, said, "In terms of safety, I don't think we have made much progress, at least in the years I have looked at it as an adult and experienced while navigating this world as a woman. So It's still very basic. And the concept of shame around. There is more conversation around, more reportage but in terms of how much that has changed, its not much. Still general patriarchy. So, that angle is still there always, you still experience it in almost every small thing in your life."Unfiltered Sayani Gupta...
Sayani Gupta got teary while expressing that, "There is no safety for children in our country. We are little girls who just gets sold off or picked up. There is a huge part of our country that has no access to information, we don't actually have a choice, freedom. If there will be a demand, there will be supply. Who are the people who are constantly buying children? We all just need to talk about it, we should not shut up, till every little child in this country, irrespective of their gender, can walk at any point in the day or night, and be safe!"ALSO READ: Delhi Crime Season 3 Trailer OUT: Huma Qureshi As Badi Didi Brings Trouble For Shefali Shah's DCP Vartika Check out the trailer below:For the unversed...
