Karan Johar Reveals He Had NO ONE To Share Happiness With After National Award Win: It Hits You Hard

filmmaker Karan Johar, who recently bagged a National Award for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, got candid about the loneliness that sometimes accompanies success. Karan opened up about being single, his struggles with solitude, and the emotional moments following his National Award win. The director, producer, and talk show host, who is also a proud single parent to twins Yash and Roohi, revealed that while he has a strong support system of friends and family, there are moments when he wishes he had a romantic partner to share his joys and milestones with.

Karan Johar is lonely!

In a heartfelt chat with tennis star Sania Mirza on her podcast Serving It Up with Sania, Karan said, “You feel the loneliest in your highs and not your lows. In your lows, you have your family, friends, parents and kids. I have two cousin sisters I am very close to, and I have my best friends. But in your highs, what do you do? I remember I got a call that I was getting a National Award. I hung up the call, and for one minute all I thought about was, ‘What do I do tonight? Whose house do I go to? Whose hand do I hold? KJo still looking for romance seen in SRK films

The Kuch Kuch Hota Hai filmmaker added that the feeling hit him even harder when he attended the awards ceremony in Delhi. “When I went to the awards, they asked me who my plus one was, and I had no one. Everybody was coming with their partners, and my mum was not well enough to travel, and my kids were too young. It hits you hard. I do get lonely and, on many nights when I am eating alone, I don’t go to my dining table. I eat in my room so I can dilute the loneliness. But they say never say never, and when it happens, I am standing with my arms wide open like Shah Rukh Khan.”While Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani brought him critical acclaim and the prestigious National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, it also reminded Karan that even triumphs can feel incomplete without someone special to share them with.
