Stranger Things Day: All About Animated Spinoff Series Tales From ’85 Including Voice Cast, Premiere And Teaser - Watch

fill the absence of Stranger Things next year, Netflix has revealed the first animated spinoff will come in 2026. Created by the Duffer brothers, Ross and Matt, the behind-the-scenes featurette and the announcement of the voice were shared on Stranger Things Day, November 6. Fans celebrate the date as the day the character Will Byers goes missing in the town of Hawkins, Indiana, in 1983. This is the last Stranger Things Day before the release of the last season.

Behind the scenes of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85

On X (formerly Twitter), the official account of Stranger Things posted, "Something survived in ’85. Stranger Things: Tales From ’85, a new adventure in animation, coming to Netflix in 2026." In the featurette, the Duffers state that this spinoff "was one of our first ideas.”

They added, "The idea was kind of to evoke a feeling of an '80s cartoon. With animation, there's really no limits." The spinoff will take place in between Seasons 2 and 3 and take viewers back to Hawkins. During the stark winter of 1985, the original gang faces and fights new monsters as they unravel a paranormal mystery that is terrorizing Hawkins. All about voice cast and makers behind animated spinoff

The voice cast for the animated series features Brooklyn Davey Norstedt as Eleven, Jolie Hoang-Rappaport as Max, Luca Diaz as Mike, Ej (Elisha) Williams as Lucas, Braxton Quinney as Dustin, Ben Plessala as Will, and Brett Gipson as Hopper. Additional voice cast includes Marty Supreme's Odessa A’zion, Janeane Garofalo, and Lou Diamond Phillips.Eric Robles is the showrunner and executive producer for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. The Duffer brothers are also executive producers along with Hilary Leavitt, via Upside Down Pictures; filmmaker Shawn Levy, via 21 Laps; and Dan Cohen.
