Goblin, Signal Actor Lee Moon-Soo Dies At 76 Due To Lung Cancer

The news of Lee Moon-Soo's death has sent a wave of sadness across the Korean entertainment industry. The veteran actor, known for projects like Backstreet Rookie, Goblin, Hello Ghost, Signal, Ghost Doctor and more, was 76. The news of his demise was revealed by Korean Actors Association. On November 29, Lim Dae-Il, chairman of the Korean Theatre Actors Association confirmed Lee's death through a statement. It read, "Lee Moon-soo was a veteran actor who valued sincerity as a performer over glamour. He was an actor who showcased his own profound acting, transcending generations and works."Lee died on November 28 at a hospital in Yangpyeong County, Gyeonggi Province. According to reports, the actor was battling lung cancer and had been undergoing

treatment since 2022. His funeral will be held on December 1 at the Hanyang University Hospital Funeral Hall.According to Korea Joongang Daily, Lee is survived by wife, Yoon Se-Sook, a son Lee Ju-Mong and daughter-in-law, Lee Young-Hwa.

Lee Moon-Soo's work

Initially a government employee, he went back to his passion of acting from childhood. He got admitted to the Seoul Institute of the Arts and later began pursuing acting as a full-time career. He joined the National Theater Company of Korea in 1989. In 2010, he even received a commendation from the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.Lee went on to appear in productions such as The Crucible, The Problematic Human Yeonsan, Death of a Salesman, The Seagull, and King Lear. Lee had created himself as an established mid-career star in the theatre industry. He had solid acting chops, stage presence, and also earned a lot of trust and respect from his fellow stars and juniors.
