'Yash Emodies Intensity, His Presence Demands...': Ravi Basrur Recalls Composing Music For KGF - Exclusive

Music composer Ravi Basrur has been actively scoring music across different film industries. While Ravi has composed music for Hindi, Malayalam and Telugu films, the composer has predominantly worked on

music for Kannada movies. For those unaware, he has scored music for Kannada superstar Yash's blockbuster film, KGF and Prabhas' Salaar. Recently, when Zoom exclusively interviewed Ravi, the music composer recalled working on both movies.

Ravi Basrur on Yash, Prabhas' defining traits

In an exclusive interview with us, Ravi revealed Yash and Prabhas' defining traits that influenced his compositions for them. Talking about the KGF star, the music composer said, "Yash embodies intensity. His presence demands music that burns slowly and then explodes — like a storm gathering."As for Prabhas, he stated, "Prabhas carries silent strength; his power is in his stillness. Ravi Basrur on composing for KGF and Salaar

Continuing the chat with us, Ravi reflected on how he approached shaping sound for KGF and Salaar, which are two completely different projects. "KGF was earth — gritty, rooted, and emotional. Its sound was forged in fire and dust. Salaar, on the other hand, is metal — sharper, more mechanical, and futuristic. For Salaar, I used industrial textures, heavier percussion, and layered choirs to give it a raw, warlike energy. Both worlds are powerful, but their emotions come from very different places," he mentioned.Meanwhile, on the work front, Ravi recently launched his first-ever original score album, Titan. The first two tracks, titled Every End Is A Beginning and Roar of Tornado, are already out. Apart from that, two other songs Behind the Darkness and Gangsta will be releasing soon.
