After
announcing the release date of his next film, King, earlier this week, Shah Rukh Khan had an important message for fans on Republic Day 2026. Taking to his Instagram Stories, the Bollywood superstar wrote that he was proud to be an Indian and wished Happy Republic Day to everyone. In 2023, after a four-year break, Khan returned to the big screen with his lead role in Siddharth Anand’s blockbuster film Pathaan. He played a RAW agent in the action thriller, which also co-starred Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. Fans are now eagerly awaiting King, which will be released in December 2026.
Shah Rukh Khan’s important Republic Day 2026 message
Unlike last year, Shah Rukh Khan did not share a special
Republic Day post for his fans. The busy actor, who is in the midst of shooting for his next film
King, directed by Siddharth Anand, posted on his Instagram Story instead. Sharing a graphic image involving the Ashok Chakra and Indian flags, Khan wished everyone Happy Republic Day and stated, “Proud to be Indian - our country teaches us there is strength and unity in diversity.” He ended his message with a simple Jai Hind and shared love to all his fans as usual.
On January 24, he and filmmaker Siddharth Anand made it official after they revealed on social media that
King would arrive in theatres ahead of Christmas 2026. The action film, which also stars his daughter Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Abhishek Bachchan, is releasing on December 24, 2026. It is setting up a major clash at the box office with the Hollywood film
Avengers: Doomsday which premieres on December 18, 2026. Original
Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, and Chris Hemsworth are all confirmed to return in the superhero sequel.
The superstar has been away from the big screen since
Dunki in December 2023. Last year, he had a cameo in the Netflix series,
The Ba***ds of Bollywood, which was his son Aryan Khan’s directorial debut.
