Divya Dutta Recalls Veer Zaara Co-Star Shah Rukh Khan's Charisma; Says 'He Spreads Joy'

Indian actress Divya Dutta is currently in talks for her on-screen presence, she recently worked in the web series Chiraiya, a story based on marital rape. From Badlapur, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to Chhava, Dutta has created a space for herself with simple yet promising performances. The actress won various accolades, including a National Film Award, IIFA Award and many more. In a recent conversation, she reminisced about the times she spent with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, she went on to talk about the off-screen moments they shared together. The actors starred together in the Preity Zinta starrer romantic drama Veer-Zaara.

Divya Dutta On Shah Rukh’s Persona

Divya Dutta, in a conversation with Humans of Bombay, revealed her memories of working with Veer-Zaara co-star Shah Rukh Khan. She began by speaking of the iconic actor’s journey and his demeanour. “My reading of Shah Rukh is that he has seen loads of ups and downs in his life”, she said. Divya further added that what makes SRK amazing is that he has also been a learner. Revealing what she believes is Shah Rukh’s mantra of life, the Chiraiya said that he spreads 'joy with everyone around him.'

Further, she also recollected a special yet funny incident that occurred after the IIFA awards on a flight. The actress shared how she, along with Vidya Balan, Dia Mirza and few other celebrities were playing dumb charades after the award show. Her mother was also on the flight, as she was watching Gangs of Wasseypur. Shah Rukh placed his hand on her screen and started to enact, to which her mother did not react, as it was he who acknowledged her. “If it were me, I would have been scolded”, Divya Dutta added.

Shah Rukh Waited For His Co-Stars Despite Huge Crowd

The actress threw light on a very special incident that happened that day. After they deboarded the flight, Shah Rukh witnessed a huge fan following, 'asusual.' She recalled how there were many people and security, where the huge crowd chanted ‘Shah Rukh’. Despite this, the actor waited for all of his co-stars to leave and sit in their respective cars. Divya Dutta was surely impressed as concludes- "How can you forget things like that? That’s Shah Rukh. It is a wow factor."

From receiving love and appreciation in the much-talked-about Veer-Zaara to now in her web-series Chiraiya, the actress has not lost her craze. The web series is directed by Shashant Shah. Released on March 20th at JioHotstar, the series delves into the serious issues of marital rape. Divya as Kamlesh, a strong housewife who navigates the troubles in family life, takes a stand for her sister-in-law when she reveals marital abuse.
