Shivaji Box Office Collection: Riteish Deshmukh's highly anticipated movie, Raja Shivaji, was theatrically released on May 1. Despite clashes with The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Ek Din, the historical drama has performed well at the box office. Based on the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the film opened to mixed reviews. However, that hasn't affected the movie's box office business. Raja Shivaji was off to a good start at the ticket window with a collection of Rs 11.35 crore. Within nine days of its cinematic run, the historical drama managed to cross the Rs 60 crore mark in India.

According to Sacnilk, Riteish's Raja Shivaji witnessed a jump in its box office collection day nine. The film, which earned Rs 3.20 crore on day eight, minted Rs 5.60 crore the next day. Considering that, the total box office earnings of Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company-backed project stands at Rs 61.45 crore. On the other hand, its gross collection is Rs 72.91 crore.
After registering an opening of Rs 11.35 crore, the historical drama made Rs 10.55 crore on day two, and Rs 12 crore on day three. It was followed by Raja Shivaji making Rs 5.60 crore on day four, Rs 4.90 crore on day five, Rs 4.25 crore on day six and Rs 4 crore on day eight.Meanwhile, in an interview with Hindustan Times, Riteish reacted to speculations of his film's budget. Various media reports stated that the Marathi film was made on a
budget of Rs 100 crore. However, the actor stated that only producers know the real budget. Deshmukh added that conversations around film budgets and actors' fees have unnecessarily become central to the movie culture these days.
According to him, people should stop talking about a film's budget. Instead, they should enjoy the movie on a big screen. Recalling his childhood memory of watching Sholay, the actor mentioned he never wondered what was the budget of Amitabh Bachchan's movie.
