Balakrishna is currently awaiting the release of his film Akhanda 2 which will hit screens on 5 December. With only a few days left for the film to hit screens, Nandamuri Balakrishna has moved on to his next. The film currently known as NBK 111 was official launched on 26 November, with a pooja ceremony. It marks his reunion with his Veera Simha Reddy director Gopichand Malineni.

Taking to social media, the film's producers Vriddhi Cinemas, who are also producing Ram Charan's Peddi, posted "#NBK111 begins its mighty march today with a divine Pooja Ceremony The historical roar is all set to echo across the land GOD OF MASSES."Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the popular filmmaker announced the news and captioned, "THE GOD OF MASSES is back… and this time, we’re ROARING LOUDER! Honoured to reunite with #NandamuriBalakrishna garu for our 2nd MASS CELEBRATION together — #NBK111 This one’s going to be HISTORIC! Backed by the passionate force #VenkataSatishKilaru garu under @vriddhicinemas."
The film also stars Nayanthara as the female lead. Gopichand Malineni took to his X timeline to make the announcement. He posted , "Here she comes… Welcoming the one and only Queen #Nayanthara garu into the world of #NBK111. Honoured to have her power and grace in our story. Wishing you a wonderful Birthday. For the first time, director Gopichand Malineni is helming a period drama. Known for delivering commercial blockbusters, Gopichand Malineni, previously worked with Nandamuri Balakrishna in Veera Simha Reddy which released in 2023. Meanwhile Nayanthara and Nandamuri Balakrishnan worked in Simha and Sri Rama Rajyam.
